Hilarious New Play @ Craic

Suffering from Budget Blues? Worried about the old Volcanic Dust? Sick of the Recession and all that fear? Longing for a laugh and a bit of cheer? It’s on the way!

The Craic Theatre Players will present their new comedy “There’s No Place Like Home” which will open in the Theatre on Saturday May 8th at 8pm. It features Derval Gervin, Kevin Campbell, Larragh Cullen, Caroline O'Neill, Mark Shields and Micky Carolan. The play is directed by Joe Morgan.

Unexpectedly widowed by an accident involving a bull and faulty deaf aids, Alice is befriended by Jimmy, her husband's business partner. As the years pass it needs all their determination and ingenuity to thwart the plans of Alice's children. They want to see their mother safely looked after in a residential home, so that they can carry on with their lives without any feelings of worry or guilt. Alice, though, has other ideas.

“There’s No Place Like Home” focuses on the efforts of a dispersed, dysfunctional suburban family to commit their ageing, gentle, yet resilient mother to the uncertain fate of a nursing home.
